Okay, before I leave I better do my infamous ratings.

Value for money 5/10
Guatemala is cheap in terms of accomodation and food, but beer is expensive and that seriously impacts on the ratings!

Natural wonders 9/10
Wow! This country is fantastically beautiful. Tikal is not really a natural wonder but its setting in the middle of the jungle with such amazing wildlife is just tops. And the volcanoes everywhere really make it for me.

People 8/10
They are just so colourful here. Friendly too.

Backpackability 7/10
Its easy to get around with many shuttle services meaning one can avoid long chicken bus rides. Lots of lovely hostels to boot.

Wow factor 7/10
I was feeling a bit tired I guess when I arrived in Guatemala and it took a while to get into its rhythm. But now that I have I just love it. That Volcano climb the other day was so spectacular.

Right up there with my short stay in Honduras. And this is for a country I've seen a lot more of. Good on you Guatemala.
