Antigua explored

This is now my last evening in Guatemala. Tomorrow morning I fly from Guatemala City via Los Angeles to Denver where I'll meet up with my aunt Jen for some skiing in Vail.

I've spent the last two days sipping coffees in European style cafes off cobblestone streets here in Antigua. Tiff and Raechel left for Tahiti yesterday and Amanda was due to leave this morning for Mexico but seems to have missed that bus so will only leave tomorrow. Its been very cool spending time with them throughout Guatemala.

Antigua is an extremely beautiful colonial city with ancient cobblestone streets between a mixture of crumbling and restored churches. The building codes seem very strict as all the buildings are kept in the traditional form - even McDonalds! Its been great to explore whilst catching up with admin tasks (like a seriously overdue haircut!).

The beautiful arch near my hostel.

A stall in one of the very colourful markets.

One of the many sculptures adorning one of the many gorgeous churches.

Some sculptures are a little more risque! This fountain is in Central Park.

Today I received some photos from Lauren who was in Montezuma (Costa Rica) with me and managed to be the only person not to have her camera stolen. So I've updated that post with some photos now too.
